Bo is a streetwise burglar. But that's not all.  She's also a grifter, a swindler and a liar.  Ata is a fashionable socialite.  But that's not all. She's also alone, abused, frightened and agoraphobic.

     Bo breaks into Ata's condominium intending to steal everything worth anything.  But she's in for a rude surprise.  Ata's philandering lawyer husband Wib has left her and taken absolutely everything with him.  She has nothing left – no furniture, no money, no hope. Her once stylish and fashionable apartment is empty except for a mattress, a closet full of designer dresses, and a floor littered with empty Dr. Pepper cans and pizza boxes.

     Captured by Ata, at first physically and later by her plight, Bo and her side-kick Robbie, a malt-ball chomping White Sox fanatic, decide to help Ata devise a scheme to get her possessions back and take revenge on her abusive husband.  Inspired by this newfound lust for payback, Ata comes out of her shell.

     The way things proceed from there, and the outcome, are outrageous, surprising and hilarious.

   At first glance Jane Martin's Criminal Hearts is a simple comedy about two real women from very different backgrounds. We have attempted to maintain the FBT mandate by casting against type to challenge the actresses in the hopes of creating a memorable production. This black comedy will make you smile as it delivers the truisms of life. Is this your life? Hopefully not.
     It is an honour to direct FBT's first Fringe production. We would like to thank the cast and crew for their dedication and hard work! Enjoy the show.
