Kevin Fox (Ross)
Kevin's not just an actor with the Company of Lost Souls, he's also the artistic director and founder. He has played many roles both on- and off-stage, including Petruchio (The Taming of the Shrew), Jonathon Harker (Dracula), the Tyrant (Canadian Premiere of Shakespeare's Cardenio), among many others. He was also the Stage Manager for Fishbowl Theatre's The House of Yes, and the General Manager of the Renaissance Stage Company. He loves being both an actor and a techie, but sometimes has trouble with the inner conflicts it creates (see the glossary at the back of this program for an idea why). Recently returned to Kingston after four years of teaching high-school Physics in Toronto, Kevin likes to think of himself as a Renaissance man, but is usually referred to as a Jack-of-All-Trades or just "That guy that does everything".

Aliya Sadeque (Shannon)
Aliya Sadeque's take on theater has changed a great deal since her early days, when being on stage was more of a knee-shaking, gut-wrenching, terrifying experience than anything else. Since then, though, she has come to love all aspects of theater, on stage and off. She is currently a first-year student at Queen's University, where she is studying Biochemistry. This is her first production in Kingston, as the bulk of her theatrical career took place in India, where she lived for four years and took part in such productions as Neil Simon's Fools, John Patrick's The Curious Savage, Thornton Wilder's The Skin of Our Teeth, and her very own hit comedy Jerry Springer: Episode 69.

Gordon Campbell (Stage Manager and Dick)
Headset marks Gord's first outing with The Company of Lost Souls. It's everybody's first outing, but that in no way minimizes the accomplishment. Gord's first involvement in live theatre was as a shepherd in a Sunday School play. The experience so scarred his psyche that he vowed never to be seen on stage again. Other than a couple of small walk-on parts (he got to beat up Che in Evita and crucified Christ in Godspell), he's remained safely ensconced backstage ever since. You'll notice that even though you get to hear Gord's "Voice of Doom" (a privilege normally reserved for actor-types), you do not see him. This is the kind of role that Gord can actually enjoy. The accompanying headshot doesn't count. It was taken under duress."Headset" is a remarkable play. You, the audience-member, are granted a brief insight into how the magic is made backstage. Be afraid: as Stage Manager, Gord can attest to the accuracy of many parts of the play. However, he hastens to point out that this production has been remarkably whine-free as well. Of course, this was written less than a week into rehearsals, but hope does spring anew. In the real world, Gord is Systems Administrator for the Queen's University Department of Physics. As you can imagine, after working all day with computers and physicists, stage managing a play is a welcome artistic outlet..

Marc Givens (Director)
Marc Givens was born the son of an Alabama sharecropper and an Austrian pharmacist on the crisp, sunless morning of July 4, 1957. His childhood was relatively uneventful - spent stuffing cotton from his father's fields into pill bottles at his mother's dispensary - until something marvelous happened that forever changed the path of his destiny. A chance encounter with Marilyn Monroe (who had stopped off for a Coke and some Demerol) opened his eyes to the glamorous and somewhat strange-smelling world of thespianism. Though onstage opportunities were rare for blacks, they could more or less do what they wanted as long as they weren't seen...and so Marc fell hopelessly in love with the role of director.
Though he has since had countless successes both in Hollywood and around the world, Marc's love for the "little people" of community theatre has brought him back to his humble, hardworking, sharecropping roots. He hopes you'll enjoy - "cotton to," as it were - this premiere Kingston effort of the Company of Lost Souls.
